London's newest immersive multimedia, multi-sensory, sci-fi experience is about to land

inspired by 'The Crystal Egg'.

 

 Fusing multiple art forms including light, sound, video, and performance,  to bring to life the work of seminal writer H. G. Wells, author of 'The War of the Worlds' and 'The Time Machine' like never before. 

 

Step back and immerse yourself in 19th Century London, and the slums of Seven Dials, to discover an object of immense power amongst the dusty relics of Cave's curio shop and come face to face with creatures of another world.

Writer / Producer

MIKE ARCHER

Mike grew up in North East of England. He graduated from York St John University having studied film and theatre production before relocating to London to train as an actor.

 

As an actor, his credits across stage and screen include leading roles in 'Trainspotting' (Lord Stanley Theatre) 'The Duchess of Malfi' (New Diorama Theatre) 'Night Must Fall' and 'King John' (Mary Wallace Theatre). His on screen credits include 'The Genius of Turner' (BBC2);'Suspicion: Series 2 (October Films) 'The King's Speech' (Weinstein Company) and 'Easy Virtue' (Ealing Studios). 

 

In 2011 he founded Old Lamp Films Limited - and wrapped the company's first project 'The Journey of Alfred Small' in summer 2014, after which the film picked up an award nomination for Best Ensemble Cast at the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival Awards.

 

Executive Producer

Luisa Guerreiro

Luisa studied at Royal Holloway, University of London and furthered her training at Central School of Speech and Drama, where she achieved a distinction in Postgraduate Acting Musical Theatre.

 

Luisa forms part of the CIRQUE DU SOLEIL database of performers as a highly confident and skilled physical comedy performer. She is also a fearless character actress, dynamic performer of stage and screen, voice over artist, a professional puppeteer and a seasoned Performance Capture Artiste

 

Her professional body of work includes The Cat in Hat (The National Theatre / Young Vic); Goosebumps Alive (The Vaults) Tree Fu Tom (CBBC); Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag (Ubisoft) and 'Horizon Zero Dawn' (Guerrilla Games), alongside work with Pinewood Studios, Audiomotion Studios, BBC, Sheffield Theatre, York Theatre Royal and BBC3 Comedy.

Director

Elif Knight

Elif Knight is a Turkish-born British award-winning actress. She was awarded the Patricia Rothermere, Evening Standard Theatre Award by Sir Richard Attenborough in a joint award. Elif graduated from the Rose Bruford Drama School & continues to work on her craft as an actress with Jack Waltzer from The Actors Studio, assisting Jack Waltzer in London.

 

Elif has starred in the lead role alongside Ben Kingsley in Nick Willing's 'The Magician of Samarkand', and went onto play Nita in the BBC's mini-series, 'The Passion', alongside John Lynch,  Ben Daniels & Joseph Mawle. Elif's most dramatic role was playing a real-life journalist in hit TV series Locked Up Abroad for National Geographic & Channel 5 Television. Her most recent role was playing M.K.s Mother in Into The Badlands Season 2. Elif is currently starring in LUMINARY a short film about a woman and her addiction to heroin.

Producer

Rebekah Harvey

Rebekah Harvey graduated with an MA in English Literature from the University of Glasgow before moving to London to work as an actress across  film and theatre.

She produced her first short film, ‘Aliyah’ in 2014 and founded The Identity Collective in 2015. After directing 9 months of research and Development and co-writing a script, she successfully produced 'Why Not Us?' which debuted at Ugly Duck 2016 and then its transfer in 2017 at The Space Theatre.

 

 

Lighting Designer

Simeon Miller

Simeon has worked as a Lighting Designer and Projection Designer for nearly 10 years. Some recent credits include Flutter (Wandsworth Arts Festival), Cosmic Fear (Edinburgh Fringe), Human Basic (Camden Peoples Theatre), Little History of the World (Regional Tour), No Milk for the Foxes (Camden Peoples Theatre), Bridlington (The Rosemary Branch), Amy G: Entershamement (European Tour), Professional Supervision (UK Tour), Made in Britain (Old Red Lion) Hamlet (The Park Theatre), Manuelita (UK Tour), When The Fallen Sang (St.Giles-in-the-fields church), Knowledge of Angels (Shoreditch Church) and Being Tommy Cooper (UK Tour)

Sound Designer

Dave Holden

Set Design

Jason Kelvin

It was the magic of theatre, love of painting and reading that set Jason on his path as a designer. He studied Theatre Design at Nottingham University and brings over 20 years experience designing for film, theatre and comercials. 

Creatives

Dave studied at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance. He has worked as a session musician for several years on shows such as ‘The X factor’, and debut albums by ‘The Voice’ winners season 1 & 2. He now runs FLAT 6 MUSIC, a collective of composers which specialises in composing music for film projects and commercials.

 

His most recent credits include Royal Ascot, ‘The Affair’ (US T.V show) ‘Coca cola’, ‘Mazda’, ‘National Trust’ and ‘House of Fraser’. He also won best original sound track at the Onrios Short film festival in Italy this year.

Is there a minimum age requirement?


We recommend a minimum age of 12+. Any younger audience members are subject to parental discretion. Though far from horror, the show does feature moments of prolonged dread and tension, which younger viewers may find uncomfortable. Children between the ages of 12 - 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

How long is the show?

 

The show has a running time of approximately 120 minutes and no intermission. CCTV will be in use throughout the venue. 

Can I take photos?

We do not allow the use of cameras, video cameras or any other electronic equipment that can be used to capture images or footage of the performance. Those seen using their phones within the shop space may be removed from the show without a refund. 

Where is the Venue?

 

 

The Crystal Egg Live is taking place at The Vaults in Waterloo. We advise you to allow suitable time to get to the venue and check for local travel disruptions, as we have a strict lateness policy. Please arrive at the venue 15 minutes before the shows start time.   

Is there designated seating?

Due to the nature of the show, there is no designated seating. The curio shop space uses unconventional seating arrangement. If you have any special requirements in respect of seating, then please contact us prior to your show.

Will I be able to leave the show at any point?

 

Once you are in the show if you would like to exit please make us aware. Re-admission to the shop space will not be possible.

Do you have disabled access?

 

The venue is accessable to disabled customers. If you have any concerns, please contact us prior to your show.

Is there Food and Drink?

 

Food and Drinks are available for purchase on site.  Please note, that we operate a drink responsibly policy. Please make sure you have acceptable ID as proof of age.

What should I wear?

 

Whilst it is not compulsory, we encourage you to pull out the bowler hats, bow ties, waistcoats, blouses, shawls and create the Victorian look. However, owing to the nature of the venue, we do recommend sensible footware. The venue can get cold and damp so we encourage you to not wear the Sunday best.
